Reza Niam, Founder & CEO
Reza holds a number of certifications in fitness, nutrition and holistic lifestyle..
As a high performance exercise specialist he has trained numerous senior executives and athletes in Canada, U.S and the U.K and he knows how to maximize
results to elicit the best from beginner to elite athletes.

Susana Vidal, Co-Founder & President
With a Masters Degree in Marine Biology and coastal management and a post-graduate Degree in Nature Tourism, Susana is well qualified to bring the environment into your purescapes program.

After running a tourism company in the Algarve for over five years planning nature oriented holidays, Susana joins Reza in creating purescapes. As your Leader in Nature, Susana will show you how to integrate nature’s beauty and tranquility into your life and educate you on balancing your personal needs with the needs of the environment around you. Susana’s passions are sustainable tourism, tour planning and lecturing to university students about nature tourism and marine biology. Susana is an avid swimmer and runner and loves beach volleyball and cycling.

Emilie Hartigan, Marketing Director
Emilie joins the purescapes team as our Marketing Director to help us grow and meet the increasing demand of the active and fitness holiday business around the world.

With extensive experience and certifications in Yoga/Pilates and personal training, she’s contributed to purescapes in the past and has a comprehensive understanding of what clients look for in a fitness holiday experience and the unique product that purescapes offers. Emilie holds a B.A. in English literature & Creative Writing (minor in Dance & Human Movement dynamics) from Reed College in Portland, Oregon, and has worked as a journalist and writer. Emilie has done extensive work in yoga therapy for trauma and is the co-founder of The Imani Yoga Foundation, a project that uses yoga as therapy for survivors of conflict, displacement and social violence around the world. Originally from Australia, Emilie is fluent in Spanish, English and French.

After serving as a Paratrooper in the British army David started his journey as a personal trainer.

David's purpose when working with clients is to use his knowledge, enthusiasm and passion to inspire real change so that anybody can reach their dreams and goals. A certified personal trainer, CHEK practitioner and Holistic lifestyle coach David is a passionate student of human potential. David is currently studying Chinese medicine and has great interest in Buddhism. In his spare time David enjoys good food, exercising his body and mind, and enjoying life.

Lily Double, Trainer & Massage Therapist
Lily joins purescapes from Brighton, England. She first qualified as a Fitness Professional at University of California, Santa Barbara in 2000.

Since then she has trained and worked across the globe from London to Melbourne with some of the world's best known fitness organizations, including The Australian Institute of Fitness, Gold's Gym, Fitness First, and The C.H.E.K (Corrective Holistic Exercise Kinesiology) Institute. Lily's personal achievements include the New York Marathon, the Monaco Ironman 70.3 and numerous triathlons. Lily is a Sport Massage Therapist and a C.H.E.K Exercise Coach as well as C.H.E.K Holistic Life Coach, and Fourth Dimension Holistic Life Coach.

Raquel Dias, Course Coordinator & Tennis Pro.
Born in Portugal, Raquel joins Purescapes with a bright and enthusiastic spirit.

Raquel brings several years of experience in hospitality to our retreat, and has worked in a variety of settings, from tennis camps and golf courses to Spanair.
With a degree in modern and contemporary history from university of Barcelona, Raquel’s passion is also for sports and fitness and she has played semi-professional basketball and tennis. She also enjoys biking and many other fitness activities.
Raquel’s warm smile and cheerful personality will make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive until the day you return home.

Holly Hay, Massage Therapist and Yoga Instructor
Joining our team from Seattle, U.S.A. Holly brings a passion for wellness of the body, mind, and spirit.

She has a diverse background in yoga, massage, and meditation having traveled and studied in South Korea, the USA, and across India. Holding certificates in personal training, yoga, and massage as well as a Masters degree in counseling enhances her ability to work with groups and individuals to explore and improve their total health. She believes, “Better body awareness facilitates staying present in each moment. For several years Holly has taught Yoga, Pilates, and general fitness in schools and fitness centers around the world. Through her holistic approach Holly will help you find a deeper realization of yourself as a whole person and ensure that your vacation is restful, relaxing, and rejuvenating.

Ben Coomber, Trainer, Holistic Nutrition Coach
Armed with a diverse and knowledgeable background, Ben joins the purescapes team with the experience and passion to help you succeed in your goals

He is currently in the final semester of his degree in Sport Coaching and Performance at Hull University in England, and he also holds certifications in corrective exercise, holistic lifestyle coaching, and currently works as a CHEK practitioner and exercise coach. In the past he has brought clients great success in creating specific sport exercise programs, correcting movement patterns, and attending to various spinal pathologies. A man with many interests, he regularly boxes, plays in his university's rugby and hockey team, and loves acting, art, and photography.

Greg Wells, PhD, Sports Science Consultant & Endurance sports expert
Greg joins purescapes as a fitness program consultant and in the future will be involved in developing and running endurance specific programs for us.

Greg is an instructor at University of Toronto’s Department of Physiology and Faculty of Physical Education and Health, teaches at the Canadian Sport Centre’s National Coaching Institute and has published numerous research articles on improving performance in elite athletes. As the exercise physiologist for the Canadian Sport Centre, he works closely with Canadian National Team athletes in the area of physiological performance enhancement. His athletes have won numerous medals at Commonwealth Games, World Championships and Olympic Games. He is a former international level competitive swimmer, has won a national championship in water polo, has twice completed the world's toughest marathon 600 miles north of the Arctic Circle at Nanisivik, Nunavut, Canada, and recently completed the 10,500 km Tour D'Afrique bike race.

Having worked as an area chef to a large chain of Italian restaurants in the UK and as a private chef in Portugal for last 8 years his experience and passion is obvious. Originally from the UK Vere`s cooking takes inspiration from around the world especially from the east including Moroccan, Mediterranean and the far east. In his spare time he enjoys Kite surfing, spending time with his family and animals as well as playing football.

Amy Ryan, Trainer & Pilates Instructor
Hailing from Ireland, after initially completing a degree in physiotherapy, Amy pursued her passion in exercise and health through working as a fitness trainer and Pilates instructor.

She works one-on-one with clients in order to attain a diverse range of needs and aspirations. Amy inspires others to adopt a healthier lifestyle through exercise and holistic approach to nutrition. She holds ITEC diplomas in personal training and fitness instruction, a Stott Pilates certificate and an honours degree in physiotherapy.

Maria Pereira, Massage Therapist
Maria focuses on teaching you the impact of the state-of-mind on the energy and well being of your body.

Maria’s expertise in Thai & Ayurvedic massage, meditation and Ayurvedic medicine has been fostered by her in-depth training in India, Portugal and Thailand. She believes “a truly healthy body is impossible without a truly healthy mind”. With years of practical experience, Maria also spends many months of the year in India and Thailand learning from the best and will utilize her expertise to make your holiday a relax and peaceful one. Tita holds a degree in Marine biology.
